Tootsie...

Oh my foot. I’ve been dealing with pain in these tootsies for over 10 years. Yesterday, my podiatrist said that part of the problem is in my gait. Come to think of it, no other podiatrist has ever watched me walk. Something so simple! I got a cortisone shot in my heel yesterday. Ouch. And then the doc gave me new insoles…plastic. They hurt worse than the shot! I went back in today and my doctor told me that in three weeks, I’d be used to it. I’m on day ONE. It’s going to be a long three weeks. Please work.

St. Patrick’s middle name is O’Neal.

Did you know the O and Mc in Irish names stands for “son of”? We had a St. Patrick’s Day party at Mom Loader’s on Sunday. Kate and Mom made a great dinner…albeit very different for Bryce and Eric’s tastebuds. But it’s good to branch out. We had corned beef, cabbage, collard green mashed potatoes, and Irish soda bread. It was like old times at Grandma Pesch’s house. Her corned beef was favorite meal of mine as a child. I think everyone’s favorite of the night was the soda bread. It was homemade and delicious. Loader bread is always from scratch and wonderful. I’ll have to learn how to make Kate’s soda bread and Mom’s wheat bread.

We also had pistachio pudding in a cookie crust of some sort and green slushies. I brought a little décor for the table. Now I have that décor up in our house. I would have totally skipped putting out St. Patrick’s Day stuff if Kate and Mom hadn’t hosted the party. Finally, I told everyone to wear green, but only Heather, Bryce, and I actually did. Those folks are lucky I wasn’t pinching!
